Our story

Niharika Bhawan, Katra

Niharika Bhawan sits close to the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board's Katra base camp, at the foot of the Trikuta hills. It was set up with one plain purpose: to give pilgrims arriving in Katra — often after a long train or bus journey — a clean, safe and unhurried place to stay before they begin the climb to the Bhawan, and a comfortable room to return to afterwards.

Over the years, families, solo travellers and pilgrim groups from across India have stayed with us on their way to the shrine. Many come back on their next Yatra and ask for the same room.

What we believe

Hospitality that respects the reason you're here

A Vaishno Devi Yatra is not an ordinary trip. Guests arrive tired, sometimes anxious about the climb ahead, often travelling with elderly parents or young children. Our staff are trained to notice that, and to help quietly — an extra blanket without being asked, clear directions to the registration counter, a phone call to arrange your helicopter slot.
